Afterwards he could not get hired locally as a driller so he shipped his drill to northern California and he and his buddy drove to the States, he knew he could not be admitted to the US for past drug charges so he got dropped off along the border and rode a bike to the nearest town where his buddy was going to pick him up. Turns out the buddy's truck had problems and was turned back. He then hitchhiked to California and has not been seen since.
