She is not thinking for herself. I believe it was George Orwell in his novel, "1984," who called it, "Group-think."

Ayn Rand in "Atlas Shrugged" described a similar crowd psychology. It was promoted by a fictional government as "For the greater good" in that everyone should do what was pushed by authorities as being best for everyone. Those who disagreed were shunned, or worse.

Both novels are highly descriptive of our time. I wish they were required reading in our schools.
