back in mid 70's i took the kids down to Atlantic City beach. I was relaxing with these three small children and high school kid comes up to me to charge me $1 or $2. to sit on the beach. I thought it was a scam. never heard of beach tags on beaches north of Boston. my only experience.

the kid is getting nervous and says mister look around, they all have a tag on their bags etc. I paid him but didn't like paying to go to a public beach. Next they started charging to park at the beach!
