Sun Tzu's philosophies as put forth in The Art of War are often instructive about these things. I believe his saying, "If you wait by the river long enough, the bodies of your enemies will float by" applies here. How long did Standard Oil rule the world in petroleum? ..................... AT&T rule in telecommunications? ..................... IBM rule in mainframes and PCs? ..................... Microsoft rule in operating systems? If you include smartphone OSes too, they are a distant 2nd to Android and have near zero presence in smartphones. No company maintains dominance indefinitely. More to the point, nothing in existence ever has. Apple will fade eventually with the rest, it's inevitable.
