Johnny Hockey, 31 RIP

Johnny Gaudreau, Columbus Blue Jackets star known as 'Johnny Hockey', killed by drunk driver

Gaudreau became one of the NHL’s more popular players thanks to a scoring prowess and flashy offensive style that belied his diminutive size.

Johnny Gaudreau, the dynamic NHL star known as “Johnny Hockey,” has died at 31.

Gaudreau’s NHL team, the Columbus Blue Jackets, on Friday morning released a statement confirming his death. The Blue Jackets also confirmed that Gaudreau’s brother, Matthew, had died.

The brothers were fatally struck by a driver while biking in Oldmans Township, N.J., on Thursday night, New Jersey State Police said in a statement Friday.
