I watched the Starz series "The Serpent Queen" while it was on APV (just vanished since Season 2 is debuting on Starz soon) mostly to learn more about Catherine de Medici. it was a decent intrigue-at-court melodrama. I found the earlier episodes with the young CM more engaging for her personal struggles. The last episode was a very complicated web of maneuvers, deception, and intrigue that left my head spinning. If Season 2 makes it to APV, I would take a look.
