There are literally thousands of different PV panel types manufactured in the world.

The differentiator here in the U.S. is the NEC (National Electrical Code).

That can be twisted in our states, counties and cities with their own spin on it.

Most of the equipment has to meet certain standards such as UL listing for example.

That ups the price especially for inverters.

Lots of variables here.

The middle man and installers jack up prices quite a bit.

Supply and demand also enter into the picture.

I buy wholesale.

Just about everything today pretty much comes out of China and other Asian countries and the equipment can meet our code requirements.

Due diligence required.

I stick with Tier One manufacturers.
