At one time, because we felt our friend was lonely all day in the house alone (I come home for lunch so I guess it isn't all day), my wife and I decided we would get another dog to keep Bear company. Oh boy, was that a mistake. I came home for lunch one day and the house was a mess. Items were chewed up, things taken off the counter and strewn all over the floor (macaroni, specifically), and of course the trash had been pillaged. I said, "THATS IT!! THAT DOG IS GOING BACK TO THE POUND!!" In short, it was more trouble than it was worth. However, I can't help but wonder if it wasn't Bear that had done all those things to get Mazy in trouble. Well it worked. After seven years, I think he knows he'll be seeing us in a matter of hours. Besides, just think of all the quality couch time he gets when we're gone. :-)

The incident with the two dogs brings to mind the polaroid camera commercial with a dog and a cat. Love it!
