Your faulty premise is that people are fungible. A negative value criminal invader is quite different from a baby born in the hospital who turns out to be Albert Einstein, or Irwin Jacobs or Andrew Carnegie.

As you have doubtless detected, some of those people were immigrants.

The ratio of predators and parasites to Albert Einsteins matters.

If sheer numbers mattered, Pakistan, Nigeria and India would be super duper. They are not.
