Well, Tinkerbell, do you twitter about the Boinking Monica thread very much? What a collection of people and opinions!!! I think it is fascinating over there. The phone did not work again today, and I found myself at loose ends without the constant political news and stimulating discourse.
So Michelle won the short program!! She really skated beautifully. While Tara executed her program well, technically, she does not seem to be inside the music, or express herself artistically. And why on earth don't her friends take a collection and get her another skating outfit? She seems to have two or three altogether.
It is really too bad that Sirya Bonaly didn't do very well. She was the first woman I ever saw do a back flip on the ice, at the last Olympics, and she had such great promise, but now her skating has deteriorated. Having your totally inexperienced mother as a coach is probably not a very good idea!!
I missed the men's hockey, Carol. Those ski jumpers were really entertaining, though. Do you get your Olympic coverage from CBS like we do in America, or from a different network? CBS did a long segment on Italian skier Alberto Tomba, who is getting a little long in the tooth, but he still seems to like Katarina Witt, one of my favorite skaters. |
