I'm what my urologist calls "a stone maker", have had more than I can count. I had to have lithotripsy for a large one. Not fun.

When I feel a stone coming on, I go to urgent care and ask for morphine. It really helps. Good urgent care places are pretty good about giving it out to those in need. Not all urgent care centers can dispense it, however.

If you are in a big city, forget about being able to get needed pain meds. Junkees fake symptoms there, so the docs will make you suffer unbelievable pain for hours before treating you.
