A lifelong history maven. After 1968 Rutgers B.A., like most college grads, realized my knowledge was limited & narrow. Mostly European with 1880 to 1920 focus. Spent decade after decade since on different periods & branches of history & pre-history (archaeology) to establish a better foundation of general knowledge with a tad of expertise here & there.

Didn't get to Art History til the 1990s. Like probably everyone reading this, can't afford Impressionist paintings A period dynamic & exciting in every respect. Started with this book. Strongly rec it.
