These retired generals are just parroting the line that they were given to them, that Brandon was somehow unable to change anything about the deal that Trump made with the Taliban. They conveniently forget that Brandon himself pushed out the withdrawal timeline without first checking with the Taliban. Then when the Taliban "objected" with full force, Brandon suddenly figured out a way to GTFO of A*ghanistan in a very expedited manner. Sorry, but this "appeal to authority" doesn't work with me.
