Notice the wording in the release; "WCOM has not changed its commitment to be the bandwidth leader and intends to aggressively provision the capacity afforded by CIEN equip" "During 1997 CIEN delivered more capacity and at a faster rate than we frankly thought was possible" "Our long-distance capacity is ahead of schedule" This sounds like a satisfied customer with a product so successful that they are ahead of where they thought they would be. This is still positive news for the year. Add to this the new MultiWave 4000 and the potential at AT&T and 1998 still looks like a banner year.
