Edwin, welcome to SI and the Fibre Channel Cosmos and thanks for imparting your knowledgeable view. You seem to have a pretty good picture of Fibre Channel and its future. Are you in the biz too?

In regards to Vixel, you wrote:

Vixel uses a GigaBit Interface Converters (GBIC) to mitigate Arbitrated-Loop node insertion/removal at the transceiver(s). It was developed with SUNW, CPQ, and AMP. I would think this capability would be desirable to clients eyeing FC-AL Hubs.
