I think I know what you mean when you say, "production quantities", but to us investors I think that means something entirely different from what Cal the Engineer was saying.
As you know, Ancor builds, tests, makes beta switches, etc. but to commercialize the switch they contract out their manufacturing. The units the manufacturer assembles would be "production units" in my mind and that's what Cal said at least twice: "production units".
Cal tried to clarify himself later in the CC by saying, "we are shipping production units--that doesn't necessarily mean that the customers are taking it all the way to the end users yet".
What Cal was trying to say, I believe Ken said more accurately earlier when he summarized saying in part, ". . . products in evaluation at several potential customers; the ability to ship production units in place . . ." (emphasis mine)
In other words, 'we can ship the finished product to OEMs in masse and will do so when these potential OEMs become not just evaluators but truly our customers via contract. Meanwhile, we'll let them play with the real thing, our production units.'
It's not Cal the Engineer's fault, but I think when we investors hear him say "shipping", we assume that means "selling". I'm not so sure that is what is happening.
