ZDR,

I saw these reports on PED30. Last year the new iPhone was very constricted in supply. This year, everybody says that Apple suppliers have orders saying that they are going to build more. So, even though the wait times are lower than last year, the supply may be greater. Kuo reported on this himself. I was waiting to see if any of the banks that had good credit card data on Apple sales in the past would talk about demand for the new phones. With some of the softness of the recent economic data, the reports of lower sales could be correct. But there are also weather related issues in China which also may be affecting sales in the short term. I guess we will have to see who is correct here. From memory, Kuo's crystal ball hasn't been great lately, if it ever was. I think he was correct for 1 year but much less so on other years.

As to the report on foldable phones, no one is selling a ton of these. And they are much more expensive than the regular phones. Unless the price comes down, I don't see anyone selling a ton of these. The Huawei trifold sells for close to 3K as the base price if I am not mistaken. I think Apple will sell foldable when it makes sense for them.
