RE: 50-55 March puts.

Other than the fact that there is no open interest listed for March 50s, the idea is that the premium would increase from the current 3/4 ask on the 55s as the stock price approached the strike price. It's possible to make money on options that aren't ever in the money. At 60 the premium on 55 puts would probably go to around 1 1/2. The only problem is that it would have to happen fast and March doesn't leave a lot of time. Also, the open interest in March 55s is fairly small and it might be hard to get in and out with limit orders. Market orders are a no good way to buy and sell options, the MMs can really stick it to you. If I can't get filled on a limit order, I don't buy.

Options are risky, period. I play them with up to 10% of my trading account, but I don't recommend them.
