I read somewhere that they spent a fortune in London to get cameras everywhere and the crooks started wearing hoodies and masks. They do the same thing in SF, Oakland and San Jose... mobs invade stores all wearing masks and the smart ones steal cars so they can't be tracked back to their home base.

Some homes in a very wealthy neighborhood were robbed by what they think are "crime tourists". A friend who lives there had over $200K in jewelry stolen. The police got about 50 homeowners to place tracking devices in the items that are usually stolen.

I think AI along with cameras EVERYWHERE would work as you could then trace the criminals back to their lairs and nab them there while they still had possession of stolen property.
