No I do not remember discussions about William Aberhart or Tommy Douglas in the family. As a kid I did hear more than once "Are you sure that is where you want to spend that dollar?" and "You gotta eat". When I was a little older dad taught me to plan a budget to live within so I would realize I needed to restrain my impulse spending.
