I checked a year or so ago and while single megaton is most common with many smaller, I think there were lots of 10.

Whatever the correct numbers my point was that if all went off, at a kilometre high or near enough, the total obliterated area isn't much compared with Earth's surface.

Since they'd be concentrated in USA Eurostan and Russia, USA would be the biggest loser, Eurostan next, Russia next and the rest somewhere down the list.

USA seems to be depending far too much on gambler's ruin = "he's bluffing" and "he won't do that, he'd rather surrender unconditionally" .

That's possible but it's a bad bet.

If you're right, China wins even bigger as Russia becomes fully subordinate to China. If you're wrong, you lose in the biggest in history society obliteration. China, India etc will take over from the non existent USA. Maybe Americans are simply suicidal. Sometimes people do want to be dead. Unfortunately.
