When you consider that a galaxy is a cluster of many stars who's average diameter is only equal to a couple of seconds of light speed and that the average distance between close stars is measured in light years, then the fact that they can "collide" with very little or even no actual physical collisions should not be very surprising. How many seconds are there in a year? Kind of like the chances of 2 bullets colliding in a fire fight... Chuck
