September consumer confidence falls the most in three years Published Tue, Sep 24 2024 On inflation, the 12-month outlook rose to 5.2%, with concerns over price increases topping the list of economic concerns. cnbc.com It takes the BEA 6 to 12 months to recognize a recession. They usually backdate the recession to starting during the previous administration unless it's a sudden drop induced by the Covid lockout or the Russian invasion. Annual benchmark revisions to the economic statistics will affect the time, but they won't be out till after the middle of next year.
