"I wouldn't count on it" is just a manner of speech. I wasn't suggesting you were. What I meant it to say is that I think it's highly unlikely.
Speculation of it happening has been around ever since I've owned the stock (maybe a year and a half). If you work your way back through the thread, you'll find somewhere (I can't remember where or who posted it) a very good argument against the possibility of it happening.
What is it someone would want to buy? It's not a customer base, and it wouldn't be inventory either. The technology, maybe, but unlikely. They're not doing anything THAT different from anyone else making drives, are they (especially now that they've stopped making the 3" drives)?
The manufacturing facilities, maybe. I don't think so, though. I have the vaguest recollection of the manufacturing facility not being saleable because of its ownership by Jugi Tandon, or some such thing (correct me if I'm wrong, someone).
If there is a buyer for this company, what kind of company would it be? Maybe a box maker that currently outsources drive manufacturing and wants to start doing it themselves? Who that could be, I have no idea, but them I'm basically ignorant.
Whatever the case, I doubt the way for me to get my four and half bucks back on the first 1,000 shares I bought is for someone to buy this company. They're going to want it for a lot less than that. The only way I'm going to see that again is if these guys can start to make a profit. I'm still hoping there's a chance of that. But that's all it is at this point: hope.
