This time around it's TSMC that's trying to save money, and Intel is the only one with a near term process map that doesn't require making quadruple and quintuple patterning work and yield to get to the generation beyond 18a / N2P.

That may be true, but similar to Boeing, they have lost considerable credibility and currently, no one trusts them.
