Yo Flick, I suppose our posting has a somewhat mystical obscurity to it at times. (I thought your response brilliant by the way). I don't think any of us writes Sanskrit-although Thomas may, and if he doesn't could probably convince us that he does. I can only assume it also has a certain fascination for others because they take the time to laugh at us, want to tell us we're shallow, criticize us, compete with us for numbers, make fun of us, and occasionally e-mail me to say they love us. I take great, great pleasure in observing that we are one of the few threads where people genuinely seem to care about each other and are NOT mean to each other, here anyway. Perhaps we are an acquired taste-like durian and tantric sex.
I am allowed to be maudlin, contemplative, mushy, serious and whatever I choose today. It's a rule I just made up for people who are approaching monumental birthdays at DAR. |
