Legal or otherwise, it is not well known to me (perhaps because I don't know very much). My statement is based on logic: How can the relatively few holders of option positions manipulate the share price of a company that is so widely held and traded?

Do do so implies a strategy of buying high and selling low--that does not compute.

Perhaps you can refer me to an explanation of how manipulation to serve options traders works, for I should like to read it.
