Chi,

Takeover rumors, acquisitions, mergers, etc., are dealt with the following comment from either the suitor or suitee, "We can neither confirm or deny these rumors."

This always gets my goat when I hear this from some company spokesperson. Its sort of like "is the cup half empty or half full?"

You see, even if there is creditable evidence or some person stating such a move, the company is obligated by the SEC to keep their mouths shut. You and I and everyone else know that this stuff leaks out and a few of the enlightened always benefit. Sure some get caught but not very many. Wouldn't it be great if a couple of jokers like you and I found out about this before it happened? In terms of our relative positions, we would make a killing! In terms of Teo's position..........well you get the picture.

What's my point? I guess it would be that I agree with the statement "BTW, I believe that 99% of takeover "rumors" are not true", that you made. The 1% that you do hear is usually because someone wants you to hear.

What is my feeling on Cirrus? I believe that they are and have been a prime candidate for buyout, merger, etc. And as long as their market cap stays about where it is they will remain so.

Will they get bought out.....I'm checking on that for any validity but I do not believe anything is currently imminent. I am sure someone is talking with them. This always happens. They would be foolish not to listen. But I do not believe there are any valid offers on the table at this time. I could be wrong. But there are no viable indications, at least on the surface, to indicate so.
