Dean,
<<I'm holding a similar skeptic position on the meaning of Cal's phrase "shipping production units" in regards to the MKII until proven otherwise.>>
I think your skepticism is wise, given Ancor's history, but I viewed it differently. Ancor has said previously that production units of the MKII would not be available until Q1, 1998. The fact that MKII production units are now shipping (even if not to end-users) is evidence that things are still on schedule. You can't sell in volume what you can't deliver, so the delivery of MKII production units is significant.
Maybe because I am a techie-type too, I can relate better to how Cal phrases things. I have to admit that I felt much better when I found out that Cal was going to be in on the conference call. I don't have anything against Steve or Ken, but Cal has been there longer, and I've built up a great deal of respect for him. Maybe in the future, they should have Ken, Cal, and Steve on the call. That way, Ken could handle the big-picture vision type questions, Steve could take the financial questions, and guys like me can ask Cal all the technical questions after everyone else has hung up. <g>
