The current analyst's '99 earnings estimates I've seen range from 61c to $1.20. The concensus is somewhere around 80c. I discount the low estimates as being some dimbwit who hasn't taken the time to revise his/her figures. I take the high estimate as an analyst who sees the upward trend and has guesstimated higher based on several factors yet to be confirmed.

Let's take the high forecast of $1.20; assuming that IDTI has enough stuff that will happen, both in new products and in achieving greater efficiencies due to tighter focusing of R&D and other expenses. If you also assume a five year norm P/E of 23, you get a projected price of 27.60. The higher than five year average growth rate could lead to a higher than average P/E and the valuation can be expected to move above the mean level. Given all of that, it's quite posible that IDTI could exceed 30 over the next 18 months. My personal guess is that IDT will get closer to 1.00 in '99 earnings and that the stock will reach 30 between now and the end of '99. Any thoughts?
