Sale of Martek Bioscience shares triggers 170 point fall in Dow !!!!!! When I sold my shares I hardly thought the stock market would interpret it so negatively. I sold out at $32, which was a fairly decent price considering the hit the biotechs took as a whole today. The stocks that went down the most seem to be the institutional favorites: Biogen, Chiron, etc. The smaller ones that don't trade much, like Martek kind of held in there. I'm not negative on Martek, just on the market right now and pulled back to the side lines to puzzle this one out. I think I will be able to buy Martek back later at a lower price. I'm not a technician or anything, but would be looking to get back in under $30. If this contradicts what I said earlier about not being a trader, I'm guilty. My main reason however for selling was as I stated earlier about being leery of the market, and as we saw today, passions and outlook can turn on a dime. It'll be interesting to see what Monday has in store. Good luck on your investing!!!! (By the way - I'm having problems with the formatting of my paragraphs. When I push tab or enter, the submit button pushes in and this thing instead of indenting or going to the next line shoots off into cyberspace.)
