OGC, WEX, EDV

OceanaGold aka OGC released some positive news concerning two of its expansion gold projects in New Zealand. The NZ government has revealed a list of projects that will be eligible for fast-track approval once a new law is proclaimed, expected before year end, and the list includes two of OGC's expansion projects, the Wharekirauponga (WKP) proposed underground mine on its Waihi property, plus the Macraes Phase 4 Project. Both of these look like good money spinners, so the sooner they get into production the better for OGC shareholders.

Western Exploration aka WEX released drill results from an exploration programme under way to the east of the Gravel Creek Resource on its Aura Au/Ag project in Nevada. So far so good -- assays like 3.69m @ 22.06 g/t AuEq (16.66 g/t Au and 458.6 g/t Ag) and 6.10m @ 12.44 g/t AuEq (8.52 g/t Au and 333.5 g/t Ag) have extended two high-grade veins not included in the Resource to a length of more than 200m, a distance they hope to extend further with more drilling.

As well, there are indications that Gravel Creek itself remains open in several directions, so there is a good chance of establishing a significant resource in the area.

West AFrican gold miner Endeavour Mining aka EDV released a PR addressing comments by the current Burkina Faso president that he could take away the permits for foreign gold miners operating in BF. EDV, which still has two operating mines and another project in BF, points to the recent sales of two two other mines in BF, with the BF government involved, to argue that they are a 'trusted partner' to the government.

Also noteworthy is that any such moves against EDV or the other Canadian miners operating there would be subject to international arbitration rules under an agreement between BF and Canada.

Among the other companies that could be affected are WAF.AX, IMG, SSL, and ORE.
