The fact is that Hamas engages in cross-border raids to accumulate hostages to trade with Israel for their Palestinian hostages. That fact seems to be lost in all the articles. That's been the focus of the ceasefire negotiations. Israel has ramped up the detentions of Palestinian prisoners the last two years.
