Brooks you forgot this negative.....both these banks are running on the CheckFree online banking system...at least that's what I found on CheckFrees' Site.

seattletimes.com

Key is an Integrion Member...and they're going with MicroSoft. Along with 2 other Integrion Members BankOne & Norwest? Which BTW are also running on CheckFrees online banking system?

So in Pilot right now you have, Chase, FirstChicago NBD, Michigan National & PNC going with Checkfree for online bills, and Wells, Key, BankOne, & Norwest going with MSFDC.

What do they all have in common? They are all CheckFree online banking platform customers?

Why are these four Banks going with MSFDC???? I don't know...but all the MSFDC press says they are doing this for Free...no charge to the branding bank. MSFDC revenue model is different then Checkfrees'

MSFDC charges the Biller for everything...presentment & payment.

CheckFree charges the Biller for presentment & the Bank for payment.

Looking at the different models....it seems if I were a biller I'd be more apt to sign with CheckFree....But if I were a Bank I'd like the 'freebee' MSFDC offers.

Where this gets interesting is when the movie starts. If Checkfree comes in with the majority of 'big billers', MSFDC is going to be doing a lot of payment processing for nothing at their branded banks.

....IMO....That's the MicroSoft advantage....I don't know about FDC....but MS seems to be willing to burn money. That's most likely why it's a private venture....because they are not going to show a profit if Checkfree wins the biller war.

Unless our Friend Mr Bill has a NetScape in mind for CheckFree...not making it part of the operating system or anything like that!

But by taking Checkfree current revenue stream...payments...and destroy it by settin a value of Zero to it in the minds of the bankers...ala NetScape Browser.

Fast foward the movie a few years.....FF FF FF.

Then when he has the payments nailed down...comes back to the billers and says, 'we're doing so many damm payments, we have all this extri processing....we can do these bills cheaper too!'

Fast foward the movie a few years.....FF FF FF.

You got CheckFree hanging on by a thread....and the DOJ on MicroSoft for controlling the Nations Payments System...and they say it's part of Window007.

Paranoid? Just look at their History....tends to repeat itself..IMO.
