8-inch SiC wafers that were approaching $5,000 per sheet, prices are falling and supply is loosening

More than 10 Chinese ingot and wafer manufacturers participate, enriching the supply chain in addition to Wolfspeed

The price of 8-inch SiC (silicon carbide) wafers, which were priced at $5,000 (about 6.8 million won) per sheet until last year, has been on a downward trend this year. This is because the amount of samples that used to depend on a single American manufacturer has increased and Chinese companies are participating in production on a large scale.
The problem of SiC sample wafer supply, which was pointed out as an obstacle to the 8-inch process conversion, is on the way to being resolved.
