John...The BTO model offered by Dell or Gateway is really a misnomer. Have you ever tried to order a computer with the specific chip set you wanted, or the exact video card, or brand name monitor, or for that matter how about a machine delivered to you without any software except an OS. It can't be done. While the choices are more than the "any color as long as it is black" Ford campaign, the BTO model is far from true cunsumer choice they would have us believe. I have ordered computers from three different mfgs online and none of them offered the choices I wanted for that perfect system.
