Azov Brigade recruits trained using NATO standards October 20, 2024 Back in 2015, Azov ditched all Soviet-era practices and began implementing NATO standards, striving to reach their level of preparation. english.nv.ua There are news articles from that time (2015) reporting on the training of the neo-Nazi brigades in the US, Canada, etc. with some questioning why the neo-Nazis were being trained by the military. Al Qaeda militia also underwent training in Nevada for the wars in Iraq, Libya, and Syria. As Zbigniew Brzezinksi, the former National Security advisor under Jimmy Carter, explained, the US training of jihadist rebels in Afghanistan started two years before the coup that forced the Soviets to invade. So it is essentially the same in all proxy wars. It takes time to build command and control that integrates with the US and NATO.
