Something I have started to notice the last few years, at least here in BC, is that the meteorologists consistently underpredict the extreme events. It happened again this weekend, when the atmospheric river produced up to double the predicted amount of rain., with some of the eastern suburbs receiving up to 250 mm in less than 48 hours, with concomitant flooding. We are fortunate in that there was only one death, which happened when someone's house was swept away by flood waters. Most people have their power back now, but some people are still evacuated from their homes.
