>>I am thinking of opening a brokerage to compete with Druss

Talent has ~nothing~ to do with it. You see, you don't make money off good recommendations and taking care of your clients. Just ask Druss. Druss is just like most every other broker, just more honest.

Who would've thought that the words Druss and honest would ever make it into the same sentence without a "not" or "dis-" in there somewhere?

You make your money off churning, mark-ups and commissions. As long as you dress in nice suits, live in a big house, drive a really nice car and have lots of colorful reports with lots of meaningless charts in your office, you're in business. If the occassional customer happens to make money on a trade, so much the better. Instant testimonial.

Be sure to change your position on individual stocks frequently. It doesn't really matter which stocks and what position you take, just do it frequently to keep that churn factor high. Once every two weeks or so (or whenever your bookie threatens to rearrange your extremities), spread the WSJ out on the floor and throw a dart. There's your next "Hot Stock Pick". Pick up the papers and get on the phone! You've got some suck, uh.. customers to call.
