TUO, KTN, IAU
Teuton Resources aka TUO and its JV partners announced the results of metallurgical testing of material from the Goldstorm deposit on the Treaty Creek property in BC's Golden Triangle. This testing, in support of a PEA expected in Q2, was for one of the large copper-dominant areas of the deposit, and was able to achieve good recoveries and a clean concentrate using relatively simple processing.
Next up, metallurgical testing on the gold-dominant Supercell, the extraction of which is expected to greatly improved the economics of Treaty Creek.

Kootenay Silver aka KTN released assays from the final four holes expanding the D Vein on its Columba Ag/Pb/Zn project in Chinuanua, Mexico. All the holes intersected multiple zones of mineralization, and with assays like 1,134 g/t Ag, 0.8 % Pbm and 3.4 % Zn over 2.6m and 2,370 g/t Ag, 1.2% Pb and 5.5% Zn over 0.5m they have managed to extend the D Vein to over 1275m of mineralization.
With drilling on the D vein complete for now, the drills have moved on to other prospects on the property. Once this 20km drill campaign is complete, an initial Resource Report for Columba will be generated.

I am going to veer from my usual format into wild speculation, in this case about Nevada gold producer i-80 Gold aka IAU. It is noticeable that for several months now IAU has gone quiet except for announcing the hiring of a new CEO.
So let us examine the background of the new guy. He does have a lot of experience running gold mines in Nevada, including Barrick's Goldstrike mine, but look at his last two gigs. He built up African gold miner Teranga until it was acquired by Endeaviur Mining, and then ran Argonaut Gold until it was acquired by Alamos Gold.
Now add in another poor year for Nevada Gold Mines, a JV between NEM and ABX. It strikes me that acquiring IAU's gold assets might give NGM a shot in the arm, and certainly IAU's new CEO could transition smoothly into a position at NGM.
But there are several potential obstacles. Since NGM already has their own mill for processing sulfide ore, would they be interested in also acquiring the autoclave at Lone tree that IAU is supposed to upgrade and bring back into operation?
Then there are non-gold dominant CRD assets at Ruby Hill that IAU has been concentrating on and that are supposed to be part of an ongoing process to develop a JV with an unknown company.
So there are a lot of balls in the air, but maybe the new CEO is just the guy to arrange either the takeover of all of IAU by NGM, or perhaps just some or all of its gold assets. |
