Paul, >>>Fleck asked one of those stock pushers a simple question. Given the now WELL ESTABLISHED FACT that the low end of the market is becoming the volume PC market for everything but server configurations and the WELL ESTABLISHED FACT that margins are lower at the low end, what happens to Intel's profits going forward?<<<

The fallacy, Paul, as I see it, is that you, Fleck, and some of the other analysts view the PC pretty much as a consumer appliance - like a TV. The consumer part of the PC market, however, is only a small part of the PC market.

Dell did not sell one unit for less than $1000.00, nor did Gateway. The Corporate, SOHO, and individuals in the investment community can afford and will continue to buy high-end computers.

Good to see you back - it was getting boring around here.

Regards,

Mary
