EAII followers,

There is a real issue at hand here concerning the earnings released and the stock movement. They beat estimates before the acquisition charges, by 12%, yet stock getting hit due to misinterpretation of the after split effect on EPS.
Has anyone figured out the relationship to the recent 3:2 split announcement and the earnings??

Cowen came out yesterday and said the only reason stock went down was due to folks not realizing the EPS were figured on the newly 3:2 post split shares for Feb 27th. So the EPS "appeared" like a shortfall. That was Thursday. Today, the stock dropped 1 7/8 more.

From Zacks...................

EPS SURPRISES:
EAII: EPS Surprise of 11.54 % reported on 02/19/98. Actual primary
EPS from continuing operations before all non recurring items
was 0.29 for quarter ending 12/97. The consensus estimate for
the quarter was 0.26.

What gives here?
