| | | Donald Trump is going to win the State of Nevada:

A couple of things to keep in mind: 1. Every resident of the State of Nevada gets a mail in ballot unless they opt out. That is the law in the State. 2. Given the above, there is no advantage to voting via early mail in ballot for either Dems or Republicans. Most take advantage of it. The fact that Republicans have a lead at this point is quite significant.
How Nevada works in elections. Outside of Clarke County ( Las Vegas) and Washoo County ( Reno), Nevada is dead Red. And by that I mean close to 90% of the other counties are highly conservative. Fortunately, for the Dems, the other counties only make up 10% of the State in terms of population.
Las Vegas is not a liberal city by any stretch of the Imagination like Boston, NY, Seattle or Portland. 75% of the vote from the State comes from Clarke County ( primarily Las Vegas and neighboring Henderson). Typically, for the Dems to win a Statewide election, they need to carry Las Vegas with at least 53% of the vote.
I don't think the Dems will be able to make their mark this time around. Brenda is not popular here. In fact, she is not liked at all. Trump has come to Las Vegas numerous times and pandered to the population with no tax on tips.
Reno/Sparks makes up 15% of the population of the State and use to be dead Red, along with the whole northern part of the State. But that has changed due to the influx of Californians from the Bay area. Nevada is now composed of 35% of Californians who have come here for price relief. Not that Nevada is cheap, but in relation to CA and NY, it is cheap.
It will take 3-4 days to tally the vote here. Nevadans are slow. When all is said and done, I expect Donald Trump and Senator Rosen to win. |
