Good job boys! ...

The Philippine Mars is being flown to the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona, where it will be permanently displayed. The aircraft is expected to arrive later in 2024.

Here's some more information about the Philippine Mars:

  • The Philippine Mars is a World War II-era flying boat that was originally built for the U.S. Navy to transport cargo. It later served as a fire bomber in Canada.

  • The Philippine Mars is one of only five Martin JRM Mars flying boats ever produced.

  • The aircraft is 120 feet long with a wingspan of 200 feet. It can drop 25,000 liters of water in one pass.

  • The aircraft was prepared for its journey to Arizona by undergoing inspections of its systems, cabling, flight controls, and engines.

  • The aircraft will be trucked the final 150 miles to the museum.
