I would agree that she feels her source is reliable, but I would give her feelings far more credibility if her sources were identified. Remember that Wessels is a firm that provides research, brokerage and investment banking services to institutional clients. It is entirely possible that among those institutional clients are firms that are presently short Zonagen and have a vested interest in seeing the stock go down. I would not put it past such people to pass false information, couched in a credible manner, with the proviso that they not be identified. As I said, these short sellers are sophisticated and have a lot of money behind them. In the circles that firms like Wessels operate in, that buys influence. It is entirely possible that Ms. Feldman truly believes her sources are reliable and is being unwittingly manipulated.

If Ms. Feldman did speak to the president of Zonagen, then at least she has spoken to one person not afraid to have his name attributed to the information he provides.
