Bill, I think that gas prices will go down as Trump pursues his "drill baby drill" policy. That's one promise that I do think he will fulfill, because that one is a no-brainer to anyone who isn't aligned with the Just Stop Oil zealots.
Whether some grocery prices go down and by how much is unknown. Let's give him a chance.
It's generally agreed that, IF Trump actually goes through with his "dicktator for a day" purge of "undocumented" immigrants, grocery prices will rise as a result.

This is because of how dependent our economy, especially agriculture, is on migrant labor.

As for "giving him a chance," that's already a given. He won the election, and he won a substantial amount of political capital. If he can pull a rabbit out of his hat, more power to him.

I suspect he won't, but he'll say that he did. But hey, I've been wrong before.
