Although comical at this point, he's just a single old fuddy-duddy and now irrelevant. Maybe he liked appearing on TV and feeling relevant, or had books to sell, or had some consulting fees paid to him, etc. but I couldn't care less.

The more interesting question or issue, imo, is how so many in the MSM and their pollsters got this wrong. I've looked into this enough that you could almost call this the PIC, the Polling Industrial Complex. In many cases the polling outfits are arms of the news outfits themselves. And in many others the polling outfits they use or pay to consult have incestuous relations with on-air talent and producers, etc. which makes it hardly an arm's length relationship. This is true across all of cable news and network news as far as can tell. Then you the university polls which also usually sucks.

Most of the PIC is a hack business, imo, that desperately needs to remain relevant because they make hay in each election cycle. Generally speaking the party internal polling is more accurate but you rarely see that, or it's hinted at if you know where to look or who to talk to.

It's worth noting the betting markets got this and the last presidential cycle correct almost to the day if you track the final 2-3 months. I cannot speak to down ticket elections and betting markets having not much studied them. fwiw.
