The reality IMHO,is this. Intel plans generations ahead, partners with all the industry heavyweights, has been investing in technologies and partnering with companies that expand the capabilities of their processors, and they tie it all together to make it work for the consumer and the share holder. And yes, there is a lot of old iron out there that will eventually be replaced. My other half is an accountant with big blue and her terminal is a 386. (although they did give her a snazzy new thinkpad) I walked into a mortgage company office I do appraisal work for and there were 50 Dell systems sitting there being installed. Corporate buying is paying the bills and by competing on the low end they are giving entry level people the best computing they have ever had for their dollar. Those who hang their hat on the shortcomings of the Covington are really nit picking. Intel is a cash cow, it can graze on my investment dollars all it wants cause in the end I wont be asking where's the beef.
