Old Testament stories were told around the fireside, changing and evolving over thousands of years until the invention of writing stopped their evolution.

The founders of Christianity were Jewish.

Christ revealed himself to a non-Jewish woman who brought him water, in doing so he opened up his mission of salvation to all mankind.

When Rome collapsed that countries administrative class jumped ship and formed the Catholic Church, this changed the mission and the message of Christianity.

Christ though his life, death and resurrection fulfilled Old Testament prophecy with HIS living water.
