Currently, the sole Anthrax vaccine manufacturer in the world is Michigan Biologics Products Institute (MBPI). It is interesting to note that MBPI is being sold. However, now that the military will innoculate all of its people which requires six injections over 18 months and an annual booster shot the demand for the vaccine is there. Currently, veterinary and research personnel are the only ones that get the vaccine and their numbers are relatively small. Because of this, should MBPI go out of the anthrax business it is expected that other manufactures will fill the gap.
